Probate Administration

Although the goal of an estate plan prepared by Plachta, Murphy & Associates is to avoid probate, we represent both executors and court-appointed estate administrators when probate is necessary. Our experience and understanding of the process will help guide you through the probate process.

The basic process of probating an estate includes the following:

• Collecting all probate property of the decedent;
• Paying all debts, claims and taxes owed by the estate;
• Collecting all rights to income, dividends, etc.;
• Settling any disputes; and
• Distributing or transferring the remaining property to the heirs.
